More than 60 years ago, the iconic Hotel Devín **** welcomed its first guests. It has been a constant in Bratislava since 1954. Many famous people, such as actress Elizabeth Taylor, politician Alexander Dubček, actor Jean Paul Belmondo and many others, passed through the corridors of the hotel. The hotel has always been a special place for meeting and is remembered by many of us. He experienced the construction of the SNP bridge, the reconstruction of Bratislava Castle and major changes to the Danube promenade.
The hotel building is a protected landmark, and its main architect was one of the most important representatives of functionalism in Slovak architecture, Emil Beluš. The hotel was designed in collaboration with Ernest Krampl and Viktor Uhliarik. They created this work in a functionalist form with perfectly resolved details and thus changed the appearance of the waterfront forever. The elegant rooms and suites also combine functionalist principles with Art Deco shapes. With this project, Emil Beluš wanted to express his loyalty to the new regime.
We honour history, honest work, and traditional values passed down and preserved from generation to generation. This is the cornerstone of our philosophy, which we also transform into our relationship with our guests. We want them to experience the hospitality of Slovakia and Bratislava even today.
Go back in time and experience a piece of history by yourself.
